TWC 545 - Content Strategy
In this project, conducting a content audit was assigned and practiced upon an existing website. The website given was Wool-2-Dye-4, which is an online e-commerce website specializing in natural yarn products. Though content audits were very much new to my skills and knowledge prior to learning this tool from the course. The practice of a content audit fell right into my career field as a content creator and project manager, as developing content falls right in the position of web designing, visual communication, and strategizing content for a specific audience.

THE PROCESS
Results
As a result of conducting a content audit upon the website, Wool-2-Dye-4, the outcome highlights the issue of inconsistent information about the products offered on the site. The two images with highlighted sections of the product descriptions indicate a few inconsistent contents:
Lack of Product Description(s) and what the product is made of and made for.
Product details such as gauge(s).
Why I decided to focus on the product descriptions is simply due to user experience needs in learning about a product’s features, details, and description of its intended use as a product. Though this is two selections of the entire products page of the website, the goal of highlighting the two product descriptions is to think about information content as an e-commerce website. Veteran audience members will understand the products much more than a new user would experience as they look over all available products. It is this tool as a content audit to flag specific products to update, revise, or redesign the content presented upon the products being marketed. Which is why I see this project to best connect with my current job field in project management and content creation/designing.
In connection to my studies and career, conducting a content audit helps keep the strategic plan of an organization’s content consistent and informational to all users of a website.
